Looking after your shoes, boots and bags

Here are some top tips for keeping your shoes, boots and handbags looking great from The Diva herself.

Shoe care

If the soles of your shoes are slipper, simply rub them lightly with some sandpaper. If they’re stick then rub on some talcum powder.

Smelly shoes? Place orange peel in them overnight and they’ll be citrus fresh the next morning.

Bring black leather back to life by rubbing it with the inside of the rind of an orange, while banana skin will spruce up brown leather.

A steam over a hot kettle will spruce up suede shoes and Vaseline will add extra shine to patent shoes.

Bag care

Use a canvas bag on raint days and line it with a plastic liner so your valuables stay dry.

Wet bag? Don’t dry it with a hairdryer or place it near a radiator, simply stuff it with tissue paper and place in a warm aerated cupboard.

Remove greasy food marks off bags with a little bit of light fluid.

A little squirt of Elnette hairspray will remover biro marks on leather.
