Sketchers Shape Ups – Toning footwear
Wednesday, August 11th, 2010
They’re the latest shoe craze to hit the scene and Viva La Diva is proud to be a stockist of the famous Sketchers Shape Ups. There are so many fitness footwear brands that claim to have toning and balancing benefits, and Sketchers Shape Ups are among these.
They are designed to change the way you walk using a wedge insert that creates a rolling bottom that simulates the effect of walking on sand. This movement is believed to help strengthen the legs, bottom, back and abdominal muscles as you stablise your steps. As you walk wearing Sketchers Shape Ups your heel will sink into the ground, roll forward in the centre and push off with your toes.
Here are some of the benefits of Sketchers Shape Ups:
- Improves posture
- Improves blood circulation
- Tightens abdominal muscles
- Strengthens the back
- Firms buttock muscles
- Firms leg muscles
- Firms thigh muscles
- Reduces knee joint stress
- Firms calf muscles
Sketchers Shape Ups have a unique design that incorporates numerous features. The upper is made from well-padded leather and suede with breathable mesh. The sockliner is a removable insole for arch support, cushioning for comfort and antibacterial treatment. The midsole is a firm polyurethane frame to stablise the foot. The kinetic wedge is a soft foam for shock absorption while exercising the core muscles. The outsole is made from long lasting rubber that adds to the biomechanical movement and helps move you into your next step.
It is recommended that you moderate your walking routine in Sketchers Shape Ups in the first week or two, spending approximately 25 to 45 minutes a day in them. As you continue to wear them, your body will adjust to the new way of walking and you will find it easy and comfortable.

Go dotty for polka dots
Thursday, April 29th, 2010
Polka dot patterns are so hot this season and The Diva has gone completely dotty over them. Polka dot high heels, flat shoes, designer handbags and even polka dot trainers, they’re everywhere including the Viva La Diva website! Wear them with the latest nautical trend or go feminine with a 50s-inspired look.
The Diva loves that the polka dot trend has been taken to a new level with bright and bold colours to create funky designer shoes and bags. Of course, you could go safe with traditional nautical-inspired navy blue, black, red and white as well, but why play it safe when a diva should stand out in a crowd?!
But remember, don’t over-do it, wear a pair of cute polka dot shoes or bag with a plain outfit for the ultimate polka dot look.
Here’s a snapshot of some of the polka dot handbags and shoes on the Viva La Diva website.

What we’re wearing – wedge trainers
Monday, April 26th, 2010
Welcome to our latest feature – what we’re wearing! Here The Diva will showcase all the fashionable shoes that other divas are wearing and find you like-for-like styles in the Viva la Diva shop, so you can look just as fabulous.
The Diva recently showed off some of her favourite platform and wedge trainers, and she was thrilled to see one of her diva friends wearing a pair as well…wedge trainers are most certainly making a come back!

Loving these white wedge trainers? The Diva has found an almost identical pair on the Viva la Diva website – the No Name Sarah Sneaker Wedged Pump, and they’re also available in grey, black and patent black. These wedge trainers are great for this season’s sporty trend…wear with girly floral dresses and 80s inspired fashion for a funky look.
Trainers Vs High Heels…not anymore!
Wednesday, April 21st, 2010
Platform trainers and pumps are a bit like marmite – you either love them or hate them - but The Diva is most certainly in love with them, so much so that she’s boasting about all the wedge and high heel pumps on the Viva la Diva website. They might remind you of the Spice Girls-esque fashions of the 90s but it seems wedge trainers are making a come back.
Combining the comfort of a trainer or pump with the glamour of a wedge or platform, high heel trainers and pumps have the best of both worlds! Imagine looking uttterly fabulous without the pinch of heels and you’ve got high heel trainers. They’re fun and fashionable, and means The Diva doesn’t need to make the decision between trainers and high heels, and that’s why she adores them.
Still not convinced by wedge and platform trainers?! Let The Diva show off some off her favourite platform pumps and wedge trainers on the Viva la Diva website…maybe she’ll change your mind!
These simple white wedge pumps are really versatile and would look great with a pair of skinny jeans. The Diva thinks these No Name Sarah Sneaker Wedged Pumps are must haves.
Another really versatile pair, these Schuh Carrie Lace Up Ankle Boots are great black high heel pumps.
The Diva thinks the Schuh Carrie Lace Up Platform Shoes also look great in grey, they’re cute and casual for everyday wear.
Fancy something a little more attention grabbing? These No Name Fanatic Wedge Pumps have a gorgeous gold colour and really stand out.
And if that’s not enough, the biggest diva of them all Victoria Beckham has recently been spotted sported some rather snazzy white wedge pumps…if they’re good enough for Posh then they’re good enough for The Diva!
