Shoes Glossary
The Diva is always using lots of terms for different shoes and the latest trends, but if you’re not as fashionable as she is then you might not know what they are! Here is a useful shoes glossary that explains all the different types of shoes and latest shoe trends.
Types of shoes
Ankle strap shoes: Shoes that have a strap around the ankle.
Court shoes: A shoe with a full back and side, can have pointed or rounded toes that are usually closed.
Mules: A classic style of slip on shoes with a flat sole or heel.
Platform shoes: High heeled shoes with a thick sole of approximately 1in and usually a tall heel.
Shoe boots: Shorter than an ankle boot but taller than a shoes; a latest shoe trend.
Slingbacks: Shoes that have a usually adjustable strap around the back of the ankle.
Stiletto shoes: Shoe with a tall, thin heel that tapers to the end.
Wedges: Featured a solid heel and sole that connects together.
Kitten heels: A shorter version of a stiletto heel.
Cone heel shoes: A mid-height shoe with a thick heel that tapers to the end.
Brogues: Men’s formal shoe that has been adapted to a women’s footwear trend.
Mary-Janes: Shoes that have a small strap across the front of the shoe.
T-bar shoes: Shoes that feature an ankle strap that hooks into the strap running up the foot creating a ‘T’ shape.
