At Viva La Diva we understand that not only do women’s figures come in all shapes and sizes, but ladies’ feet do too! According to recent research, women’s feet have increased on average a size and a half in the past 20 years, from a 4.5 in 1990 to a size 6 in 2011.
The same study found that 82% of women who wear a size 8 or 9 were ashamed of their feet, with two thirds of these were reluctant to ask shop assistants for help and one third feeling uncomfortable taking their shoes off in public. And surprisingly 50% of women lie to their friends and partners about the size of their feet.
An increase in the broadness of women’s feet has been attributed to the changes in shoe sizes as well as an increase in the average woman’s height and weight.
